            In year 7 Design and Technology you will complete many different projects, if you want more information on the project

  Resistant Materials: The puzzle box is a fantastic Resistant Materials project, and a great introduction into working with woods.

You will be building on your skills with hand tools while producing a precise wooden box, while using small blocks to produce a puzzle which will improve your three dimensional awareness.

Finally and most importantly you will use your imagination to produce a fresh new twist on this product, by adding a theme to the exterior of the box. More...
 

  Food: Healthy eating is big business in today's society, in this unit you will be finding out exactly how to create a healthy diet!

You'll be making: A fresh fruit salad, a healthy tropical mix snack, some small cakes (healthy of course!), a savoury toasty snack, and a pasta salad!

ELECTRONICS   Electronics: In year 7 you may get a taster of electronics via the flashing badge, you'll be using your own design ideas to create an imaginative badge which will incorporate L.E.D.'s and one flashing L.E.D. to enable your design to flash.

This is a great intro to electronics which will be followed up in year 8 by more complex circuits such as the Jitterbug and Steady Hand Game. More...
  Textiles: In this unit you will undertake three tasks:
  • You'll design and manufacture a card using embroidery
  • You will produce a silk painting of your own design
  • Finally you will be learning skills to enable you to practice weaving

Have you ever used a needle and thread before? Well this is your time to shine if you have, and time to learn some valuable life skills if you have not! Plus you'll have the opportunity to show off your creative flare in your own silk painting design. More...
