But I did work hard and was really tired when the exams were all over.” Eleanor Daly who also achieved a string of As and A*s, said:” I’m relieved it’s all over. Now I can look forward to coming back to school and seeing my friends again.”
Student's perspective
George Addlesee gives a student’s perspective on results day:
“Today’s the day! Millions of teenagers across the country are waiting in anticipation to see how well (or not) they’ve done in their GCSEs. For several months, my fellow Year 11 students and I worked hard in preparation for the exams in May and June. Now, they’re over – and it’s time to find out the result after endless months of revision, hard-work and worrying.
As I step into the school, the nerves begin to overwhelm me. I have high expectations for myself and a voice at the back of my mind is telling me that I won’t achieve them. The long walk up to the library is nerve-wracking and terrifying - there’s nothing I can do now. Soon, the envelope is in my hand, and months of suspense all come flooding back to me. I open it, and read with bated breath what I’ve wanted to know for ages…
Wow! What a huge relief. It wasn’t half as bad as I expected it to be. In the end I managed to achieve 2 A*s, 3 As, 4 Bs and a C. The worrying and nerves I had been experiencing for the past week or so disappeared, and was replaced with pride and satisfaction. Now my place in Sixth Form is secured, I’ve got one more week of relaxation before I have to focus on my A-levels. Thank God the wait is over.”

LCHS says huge congratulations to all the students and a big thank you to staff and parents for supporting them.
